New Student Contest – Would your class like to join me at Fenway for a hour?
I am pretty excited to offer this new contest for students that will allow your class to come join me for an hour at Fenway Park. We will sit in the stands and just talk – no agenda, no lecturing, just talking. So come prepared with lots of questions and take advantage of this rare opportunity.
Information
- Open to any college or university – can be physical therapy or athletic training students. I would say this is negotiable but let’s try to limit this to under 25 people.
- Pick one person from your class to be the liaison with me and contact me, please don’t all email me. Send me an initial email introducing yourself and saying that your school is interested. Let me know what you plan to do to win the contest and keep me informed along the way.
- We’ll find a mutually agreeable date for your class to come to Fenway this April, May, or June and meet me for an hour. Likely from 11:00 AM – 12:00 Noon one day in the middle of the week. We’ll sit in the infield grandstand with the green monster in front of us.
- You are responsible for getting there and all other travel arrangements. Obviously this is more applicable to schools near Boston, but if you want to all fly in more power to you! I would suggest you make a day of it and spend the afternoon in Boston, maybe even try to get a group ticket package for that night’s game (sorry I can not help with that). Students from afar – don’t forget that the annual APTA meeting is in Boston in June, maybe we could coordinate around that time if you win! (Thanks for the idea Selena!)
- The contest begins immediately and I will; announce the winners around April 1st, 2010.
So How Do You Win?
I’m not really sure! What I want to do is raise awareness for this website. I want to see the amount of readers go through the roof this year. So, the criteria to win is subjective – do your best to spread the word and at the end of the contest I will judge who did the best job getting the word out about this site.
I would love to provide examples but I think you’ll be more creative than me. This can be as simple as contacting me with a list of names from your class that have subscribed to my newsletter or more complicated like spreading the word about this site around your school or online, etc. Maybe even some national exposure with the APTA or NATA? Like I said, I don’t know, but whoever impresses me the most will be the winners!
Obviously, keep in touch and let me know what you and your class are doing and what your progress has been. Use the “contact” tab at the top of this page to reach me. Make sure I know what and how you are doing.
If anyone has ideas on how to make this contest better, feel free to reply to this post. I had considered making this a charitable donation contest, but don’t want to get too sloppy, maybe next year.
GOOD LUCK!

That is so cool Michael, I'll see if I'll share this with some people from your area…
