My New Forum is Ready

UPDATE: Ahhh, glitches!  I knew this wouldn’t be perfect.  I had to reset the forum database due to some mild glitches with my host server.  Anyone that registered or even posted this morning may have to re-register or re-post.  SORRY.  IF YOU SEE THIS MESSAGE, everything is fixed and you can participate in the forums no problem.  If you see this message now but didn’t earlier when you registered, then sorry you will need to re-register.  All should be good now!

I have been thinking about adding a discussion forum to this website for some time now, probably the last 2 years.  I have discussed in the past that I feel that there is a lack of quality forums devoted to rehab, sports medicine, and performance.  There are some great forums out there, but that are associated with membership sites like StrengthCoach.com and SportsRehabExpert.com.  That is great if you are a member, but I wanted a forum that can be accessed by all!

After a few months of development and testing of various forum software, I am happy to announce my forum is up and running.

This is going to be the forum that I interact in so feel free to ask me questions and advice.  I see this as replacing my contact form, so that everyone can benefit from asking questions and seeing my response, plus have the ability to jump in on he discussion.

I can’t say this enough, but discussion forums are only as good as the content and interactivity.  So, if you have any concerns or suggestions on how to make the forum any better, please let me know.

I have tried to keep the forum simple and have only divided it into 3 groups:

  1. Rehab and Sports Medicine – This is the place to go to post a question related to anything involving rehab, physical therapy, athletic training, manual therapy, and more.  Use this to ask questions to the group, discuss current trends, or get some help with a difficult patient.
  2. Training and Performance – This is the place for topics related to strength and conditioning, fitness, performance training, nutrition, and more.  Use this group to ask questions related to topics like this.
  3. Continuing Education – This may be my favorite aspect of the forum, a place to discuss seminars, conference, webinars, books, DVDs, and other educational websites and products.  COme here and ask others their thoughts on a seminar you may want to attend, or which book you should buy.  I’d love to not only see questions, but also maybe some users submitting reviews!  How cool would that be?

There are links in my header above and my side bar to the right, or click here to go to my new forum

I “think” I have all the kinks ironed out, but I am sure there will be a bump or two along the way.  Let me know if you have any issues.

I really think this could be a useful forum for us all and hope that you will join in and participate!  See you on the discussion forum,

Mike
